Traditional Use
A herb well known for its culinary and medicinal properties, Ginger has been used in both Eastern and Western medicine for centuries. The Chinese first recorded uses of ginger dates back about 2000 years ago, where it was used for treating a whole range of ailments. Some properties noted over the ages are the relief of motion and travel sickness, treatment of earaches, blood pressure, stomach upsets and baldness. The Chinese also used Ginger as an aphrodisiac.
Emotional Applications
Gives warmth, strength and courage to cold dispositions. Enhances ;motivation, focus and direction to 'lack of drive'. Promotes flexibility to change.
Therapeutic Applications
To assist in digestion and the treatment or prevention of flatulence. Add 6 drops to 10ml base oil or base cream and massage stomach in a clockwise direction. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.
For temporary relief of nausea. Add 6 drops to 10ml base oil or base cream and massage stomach in a clockwise direction, or add 6 drops to vapouriser. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.
Temporary relief of the pain of arthritis and muscular aches. Add 6 drops to 10ml base oil or base cream and massage affected area. Alternatively add 6 drops to 10ml Vegetable Glycerine and add mixture to bath; or add mixture to 1 litre of cold water for compress.
For temporary relief of symptoms of catarrh. Add 6 drops to 10ml base oil or base cream and massage. Alternatively add 6 drops to 10ml Vegetable Glycerine and add mixture to 1 litre of steaming water, cover head with towel and inhale for 5 minutes; or add 6 drops to vapouriser.
