Nature's Goodness Australia Macular Health Capsules
- May help maintain or improve visual sharpness and macular function.
- May help protect the macular region of the retina from free radical damage.
What is the Macula?
The Macula is a highly pigmented region near the centre of the retina. It contains a high concentration of photoreceptor cells, which are responsible for visual sharpness, and a high concentration of carotenoid pigments which are thought to have a protective effect on the photoreceptors.
Why use Nature's Goodness Macular Health?
Saffron, the dried stigma of the crocus flower, is currently the subject of intensive research in relation to its antioxidant and macula protective benefits. Saffron is rich in carotenoids and carotenoid derivatives, many of which have potent antioxidant activity. The latest research shows that Saffron supplementation can improve retinal function as well as improving visual acuity (sharpness).
Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids found in the macula region of the eye. These carotenoids play a very important role in the vision function of the eye and they can only be supplied from our diet. They are found in many green vegetables.
